This was the Las Vegas Welcome Center located at  5191 Las Vegas Boulevard; just north of the famous Las Vegas sign, and just south of The Klondike.

The first photo was taken during the demolition of The Klondike.  I believe that at that time, the welcome center was already closed for business.

The second photo was taken more recently, and obviously after the building had been destroyed by fire.

At the present moment, the center of Las Vegas Boulevard, at the Welcome To Fabulous Las Vegas Nevada sign, is dug up, as a parking lot for the sign is being constructed.  The sign is still in place and still lights up at night, but there are No Trespassing signs in front of and behind the welcome sign, which makes for an odd combination.

A welcome to Las Vegas sign, surrounded by no trespassing signs.

People are ignoring the warnings, and standing in the rough dirt at the sign to have their picture taken.

Anyway I digressed a little.

This area is in a period of change.
