Traffic lights have been installed at the first intersection south of Sahara, on Las Vegas Boulevard.  The lights are still covered and not active yet.   Soon though, apparently, one will be able to make a left (southbound) turn on Las Vegas Boulevard from the Sahara Casino Hotel, with the assistance of a traffic light instead [...]

This is how the famous Welcome To Fabulous Las Vegas Nevada sign looked this morning (Sunday 28 September 2008).  The artificial turf has all been removed.  Soon a parking lot will be located in the center of Las Vegas Boulevard for those who wish to take photographs at the sign.

On the site which used to be Nevada Palace, EastSide Cannery Casino Hotel is open for business.  Cannery East is on Boulder Highway south of Tropicana and just in Las Vegas limits (Henderson nearby).

A fire at The Bellagio in Las Vegas, has been put out.  Two people smoking in a hotel room on the 26th floor set the mattress on fire.  They have been taken to a hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.
